About the Pool

The Sportsplex Pool is a 50 meter competition tank divided into 2 - 25 meter sections by a stationary bulkhead and offers many structured programs and drop in sessions for all ages to enjoy. The pool contains a 105 foot waterslide, 1 meter and 3 meter diving boards, tarzan ropes and a good variety of leisure toys and equipment to make your swimming experience fun!

The Sportsplex is proud to offer the newly revised Red Cross Learn to Swim program which now includes a 7 level transitional preschool program in addition to their 10 level Swim Kids program. Register for one of our Lifesaving Society courses to learn how to assist yourself or someone else who may experience difficulty in or around water.

Also home to the Brandon Bluefins Swim club, your child can learn how to swim competitively while remaining physically active! With drop in swim sessions for your family offered seven days a week, swimming is a fun and affordable activity that everyone can participate in!

Information for the public:

In a effort to eliminate pool shut-downs due to pool foulings we would like recommend the following:

  • Ensure your child uses the bathroom prior to entering the pool
  • Take your child on bathroom breaks frequently and check diapers often.
  • Do not allow your child to swim if he/she has diarrhea, even if the child is in diapers
  • Practice good hygiene by ensuring you and your child take a shower before swimming and wash both your hands and your child's hands thoroughly after using the toilet and after changing a diaper
  • If it appears your child needs to use the bathroom during swimming lessons or public swim, please don't delay in bringing him/her to the washroom immediately!

In the unfortunate event that our pool water is contaminated with fecal matter or vomit, facility staff are required to close the pool for a minimum of one hour in order to properly disinfect the water and enure water quality is within the appropriate range set by the public health act before swimmers can re-enter the pool. This process has proven to be both inconvenient and costly to patrons, facility staff, and the City of Brandon.

With your help in abiding by the good practices outlines above, we hope to minimize the number of pool shut-downs at our facility and maintain high water quality for the safety of our swimmers.
